Here’s a tune I wrote about my “day job” as editor of MapleBlues. Call it a Public Service Announcement. The May issue is just out and you can read it here:
The Toronto Blues Society is doing a ticket Giveaway for my Mother’s Day Matinee Campfire It would be great to see you on Sunday, May 14, 2pm in the Lounge at the Redwood Theatre. Tix at https://theredwoodtheatre.com. Tix are $20. Brunch is a-la-carte and served until 2pm
To WIN a Pair of Tickets to the Mother's Day Matinee Campfire Brunch send an email to info@torontobluessociety.com with "Mother's Day Tix" as the subject line. Entries must be submitted by 11:59pm on Wednesday May 7 (Winners will be notified on Thursday May 8)
My guests are Ken Whiteley and Rick Taylor. I asked myself, if this was to be my last campfire (which it’s not!) who would I choose to invite and these are the guys: Ken Whiteley is a national treasure and Rick Taylor is a master bluesician who doesn’t get to Toronto nearly enough. He’s coming a long way for this show so let’s show him some love.
And there will be your usual Brian Blain light-hearted foolishness as seen in this clip from a solo set at Winterfolk last February. The full set is here: https://youtu.be/7BRS1Kertb8
